Playdium Edmonton on the Cutting Edge with MaxFlight's "MaxZilla" The Monster Truck Ride
The cutting edge is on display at Playdium Edmonton. With over 150 of the very latest state-of-the-art attractions, this world-class entertainment destination offers an unparallel experience. The spectacular centerpiece is "MaxZilla" the Monster Truck ride, the most unique and exciting new Virtual Reality thrill ride on the planet. So when Playdium Edmonton calls itself the "Ultimate Place to Play" it’s no brag, just fact.
MaxZilla, referred to as Monster Truckin' by Playdium Entertainment, is a full-motion Monster Truck Simulator, an awesome combo of high-tech wizardry and good ol' fun. Drivers climb aboard the blue behemoth, strap into the dual-steering truck-cab, get lifted up to Monster Truck height then peel out on a hair-raising joy-ride through a virtual obstacle course. Created by MaxFlight, a New Jersey-based company, MaxZilla's "what you view is what you do" technology lets riders race along the precarious course and literally careen and rumble into full 360 degree flips, climbs, jumps and plunges, doing exactly what they make their virtual truck do. Every shake, rattle, upside-down roll that riders see on the huge 58" screen is what they actually do. The feel of wind in their face and premium quality surround sound all around make it the ultimate sensory experience.
"'Wow' is a good word to describe both the riders' reactions and the crowds in line." Says Philippe Renoir, Marketing Events Manager of Playdium Edmonton. "Even people just watching get a kick out of seeing both the truck in action and the looks on people's faces after their ride. Playdium strives to be cutting-edge, and MaxZilla has achieved just that."
The concept behind MaxZilla – The Monster Truck Ride's success is quite simple. "We took Virtual Reality and added the reality back in," says Frank McClintic, President and CEO of MaxFlight whose VR2002 Roller Coaster and other Virtual Reality simulators are creating sensations all over the world. A former Army helicopter pilot turned inventor, McClintic has utilized his flight and simulator experience to create a patented "Forward-of-the-Axis" motion technology for this one-of-a-kind never-been-done-before ride. Drivers are in complete control as they motor and really move with truly interactive shift, brake and accelerator action. MaxZilla is a drive to test thrill-seekers of all skill levels.
MaxFlight and Playdium Entertainment Corporation have teamed up before. The VR2002 Roller Coaster Simulator is part of the success at Playdium Toronto and Playdium Mississauga. MaxZilla is strategically placed as you walk into Playdium Edmonton. "Every inch of space is designed to give the visitor the feeling of being transported to another place in time and space," says Brent Collingwood, General Manager. Located in the West Edmonton Mall, aptly described as the world’s largest mall, the 37,000 square feet Playdium Edmonton has succeeded in unifying its adrenaline-pumping attractions, high-tech corporate meeting rooms, concession bar, restaurant, Playdium Roots Store and Playdium Sports bar into an ideal atmosphere for fun.
Playdium Entertainment Corporation is the leader of location-based entertainment centers in Canada. "For kids, young adults or families, singles, tourists or Alberta’s corporate clientele, Playdium Edmonton has set a new standard," says Collingwood. MaxZilla has proven that new standard's are set by being cutting edge.
MaxFlight, (http://www.maxflight.com), a New Jersey-based corporation with products placed around the planet, is a privately held company based in Lakewood, New Jersey. The company designs, manufactures, and sells Interactive Virtual Reality Amusements for the entertainment industry.
