MaxFlight Fits Ilusiona's Family First Formula

Ilusiona of Barcelona, owner of 25 bowling and arcade centers throughout Spain, has a very simple philosophy: The family is the principal consumer unit. To appeal to the broad age range every family can have, Ilusiona blends the traditional with the very latest high-tech, and centers the fun around state-of-the-art American-style bowling lanes. The arcade action has an all-inclusive diversity that will find billiards alongside the very latest video games and fairground amusements right next to virtual reality. And now the Bolera Gorbea Bowling Center in Zigoitia has acquired the family friendly feature attraction that has become one of the most popular full motion indoor thrill rides on the planet; MaxFlight’s VR2002 Roller Coaster Simulator.

MaxFlight invented the concept of “design and ride” your own roller coaster, so different family members can custom create their very own level of thrill, from mild to wild. A patron steps up to a computer kiosk prior to boarding the ride and selects several track pieces, building a unique journey through an awesome futuristic space asteroid. Over a billion different ride combinations are possible. Once secured inside the bright red coaster cab, riders are lifted 12 feet above the ground and take off, actually doing every spin, twist, dive and 360-degree roll they see on a huge 58” screen in front of them. Riders even feel the rush of real wind in their faces.

All over the world MaxFlight simulators have a crowd-drawing appeal. This was exactly the aspect being looked for by Monica Castro of Maquinaria Automatica Comercial, s.l., Ilusiona’s purchasing agent. “The challenge was to find the right centerpiece attraction,” she said. “Ilusiona understands that above the sport and spare-time leisure fun of bowling and the arcades, there is a ‘social’ component to all the activities. Interpersonal relations and group interactions are all going on.” And as groups gather around the jaw-dropping wonder in action, the animated conversations indicate that watching the VR2002 is nearly as fun as riding it.

Located near Vitoria in Alava, Zigoitia’s 2000 sq meters Bolera Gorbea Bowling Center is a model of Ilusiona’s integrated design. With the bowling lanes as the main axis, several areas create the complete leisure-time package. The Game Zone has the best, latest and most interactive games available. The Park King offers a dynamic children’s playground and the Metropolitan All-American Café specializes in American fast food. Offering interesting and distinctive foods is an essential at all Ilusiona locations. Bolera Gorbea also features a bar and billiards area.

MaxFlight, a New Jersey, USA-based Corporation, has been a leader in creating Virtual Reality thrill rides for the amusement industry. Frank McClintic, former Army helicopter pilot turned inventor, has parlayed a simple idea into a phenomenon. “We took Virtual Reality and added the reality back in.” A unique forward-of-the-axis technology allows full 360- degree rotation in two different directions. “Where other rides on the market try to fake-out your senses,” said McClintic, “with MaxFlight, what you view is what you do.”

This idea has led to success in 22 countries on every continent. Other MaxFlight simulators include the CyberRun Bobsled, MaxZilla Monster Truck and FS2000, two-seat, dogfight, Flight Simulator.

MaxFlight (http://www.maxflight.com), a Lakewood, New Jersey-based corporation with products placed around the planet, is a privately held company. MaxFlight Corporation designs, manufactures and sells Interactive Ride Systems for the entertainment industry.
