MaxFlight Into Norway Museum
Cash Box International, As It Happens Newsletter, Issue #153, August 9, 2002
The Norwegian Aviation Museum, which features a unique propeller design, succeeds in making a visit exciting, entertaining, and enlightening.
Assisting in that mission is MaxFlight Corp., which has installed its FS2000 jet flight simulator at the museum. The FS2000 is a big attraction perfectly themed to Norway's prime spot in aviation history and the soaring spirit of the Norwegian people. Both World War II and the Cold War found Norway on the front lines, and today the Norwegian Aviation Museum lies on the cutting-edge in the presentation of all aspects of aviation. It is located on approximately the same site as a German World War II airfield in the centrally located town of Bodo. The museum, which was officially opened by King Harald V in 1994, meets the challenge of being both an in-depth and delightful place.
Elisabeth Langeland, the marketing manager for the museum, said the museum installed the FS2000 to give guests the ultimate feeling of being in control. She added, "Visitors love it! It is an exciting attraction and will give the museum many new target groups, especially the young.
Kjell Lutnes, museum director, former pilot and major general, said, "This is the closest you'll get to real flying."
MaxFlight creator and former pilot Frank McClintic, said, "At the core of MaxFlight's growing success in both the museum and aviation markets is the combination of providing an exciting ride that is thematically right for the subject at hand. More and more aviation museums are discovering the potential of having a fantastic thrill ride, capable of drawing crowds all on its own, that is also a flight simulator giving guests the closest possible experience to flying while still on the ground." MaxFlight simulators are in over 25 countries on six continents. For more information, call +1 (732) 281-2007; fax +1 (732) 281-2099; Web (http://www.maxflight.com).
