Safari Land to open with MaxFlight Dually System
Play Meter, September 11, 2002
When Safari Land in Villa Park, Ill., opens in early October it will have the "Dynamic Dually" as a centerpiece attractions. A new and different family entertainment center, Safari Land will feature Max Flight's dual action simulator, which gives riders both the ultimate rush and the ultimate choice.
Safari Land covers 67,000 square feet on the site of a former Montgomery Ward Outlet in the Villa DuPaige shopping center. In addition to the MaxFlight Dually ride system, guests will encounter two indoor electric go-kart tracks, a full size tilt-a-whirl, a children's soft modular play area, and arcade games.
MaxFlight's Dually, a combo unit of its popular FS2000 Flight and VR2002 Roller Coaster Simulators, is designed to offer both interactive and passive experiences. The Dually, a fully pilot-controlled two-seat flight simulator, can switch to give passengers a hair-raising roller coaster thrill ride like no other.
The Dually is a slick silver, freestanding compact attraction where two riders climb aboard and securely sit in an enclosed cab. As the ride begins, they are raised 12 feet into the air where they complete 360-degree spins, spirals, and loops. In the FS2000 Flight Simulator mode, the riders are in total control, piloting the craft through a series of dogfights, maneuvers, and missions, avoiding enemies and obstacles.
Passengers can choose their own ride in the VR2002 Roller Coaster Simulator mode and even feel the wind in their faces. They select various track sections and piece together their journey through a futuristic space asteroid or sit back and enjoy a live action roller coaster.
